The Municipal Clerk, as secretary to the municipal corporation, signs official documents and checks, has custody of the city seal, and attests to the signature of the mayor.
As secretary to the governing body, the Municipal Clerk issues notices for, and attends all Council meetings, records minutes, prepares meeting agendas and select resolutions, receives and opens bids, administers and records oaths of office, processes correspondence and records, files and advertises ordinances and public notices, and acts as a liaison between the public and the governing body.
As chief administrative officer for all city elections, the Municipal Clerk registers voters and is responsible for overseeing the municipal, primary, and general elections.
