Traffic Safety

The Traffic Safety Division is responsible for managing the safe and efficient flow of traffic on city streets. The Division works hard throughout the city to maintain and upgrade city signage to make our community safe to navigate. We provide residents a variety of services including, but not limited to:

  • Provide appropriate permits for special event plans which may require barricades for traffic management and/or road closures.
  • Graffiti removal from public spaces to maintain aesthetics and deter vandalism.
  • Fabricate, install, and repair street and traffic control signs to promote effective traffic navigation and safety.
  • Maintain non-traffic pavement markings like curbs, parking spaces, crosswalks, or other pavement indicators.
  • Trim any trees or shrubs near traffic control or street signs to ensure visibility for motorists and pedestrians.
  • Provide traffic control devices according to engineering blueprints to ensure  traffic control measures are implemented in accordance with design specifications.
  • Design and fabricate all decals for city vehicles including police cars, fire trucks, and municipal service vehicles.
  • Design and install clear and informative signage for all city parks, recreational areas, and public buildings.
  • Plan and manage alternative routes for traffic during construction, accidents, or other situations requiring a road closure.
