The Tree Maintenance Division works to enhance the health and appearance of trees in the City of Vineland.
Division staff understands the ecological and aesthetic benefits that well-kept trees provide. To this end, we section and remove any dead or diseased branches in order to keep city trees healthy and improve longevity. Cutting-edge equipment is utilized to ensure city trees receive the best possible care and are maintained safely.

Services performed by the Division include, but are not limited to:
- Tree and Bush Pruning and Maintenance: This involves the careful trimming of branches and foliage to encourage healthy growth, improve the tree’s appearance, and remove any dangerous branches. Pruning can also help the tree better withstand storms and strong winds.
- Tree Removal: When trees become a safety hazard due to disease, damage, or location, they may need to be removed entirely, including the trunk, branches, and sometimes the roots, if necessary.
- Tree Management Planning: This is a long-term strategy for maintaining the health of trees on a property. It includes recommendations for planting, pruning schedules, and monitoring for diseases or pests. This helps ensure that trees grow in the right conditions and at the right pace.
- Stump Grinding and Removal: If a tree has to be removed, the stump can remain as an eyesore and potential hazard. To solve the problem, stump grinding can reduce it to a level below ground, while stump removal involves removing the entire root system to prevent re-growth.
- Storm and Emergency Responses: This service is crucial when severe weather causes trees or branches to fall unexpectedly. Tree care professionals will come quickly to clear the debris, safely remove damaged trees, and prevent further damage to property.
