VINELAND MUNICIPAL COURT REOPENING OPERATING PROCEDURE

Municipal Court
The Vineland Municipal Court handles all criminal complaints, ordinance violations, and traffic tickets issued in the city. The court schedules cases for hearings, accepts bail, and maintains records of criminal and traffic tickets for attorneys, defendants, residents, and the general public.

- The charge presents a risk of the defendant going to jail, losing driving privileges, or receiving a substantial fine, and
- The court determines that the defendant is unable to afford an attorney.
The defendant will be required to complete an application form that can be obtained from the court. The court may charge an application fee. The Judge will review the application and decide if the defendant qualifies for a Public Defender. The Judge may require the defendant to bring in proof of income or employment (tax returns, pay stubs), and may verify the information.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
In observance of Thanksgiving the court will be closed on November 24, 2022 and November 25, 2022.
In observance of Christmas and New Year’s the court will be closed to the public from Friday, December 23, 2022 through Monday, January 2, 2023. The office will remain staffed during this time period and the phone lines will be open. The court will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

THERE WILL BE NO EVENING COURT SESSISONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
