The Information Systems Division (IS) is focused on providing necessary technology to the City of Vineland while making sure it is cost-efficient and that it can deliver and ensure accurate, timely, and reliable information. IS oversees the city’s computing environment, telecommunications and security systems, and provides for the protection and control of information, electronic assets, and resources using industry best practices and performance measurement techniques.
IS manages and maintains municipal network servers and storage, provides the resources to host applications and data used by city departments to support internal and external city services, and provides support to all departmental and enterprise applications.
IS also orders, installs, and maintains computers and peripherals for city departments; provides in-house computer training for city employees; and manages the city’s website, email, voice mail, facility surveillance systems, access control systems, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
The ultimate goal of the IS Division is to provide the City of Vineland with effective and efficiently managed Information Systems, which in turn, will increase productivity and quality of work while reducing the cost of operations for taxpayers.
