UNDERSTANDING YOUR PROPERTY TAX BILL
Property taxes help fund a variety of services provided by local government. While the City of Vineland collects property taxes, those tax dollars are distributed among several governmental entities. 2026 Tax Dollar Breakdown
When reviewing your quarterly property tax bill, it is helpful to understand how the total amount is divided. Approximately 33 cents of every property-tax dollar goes towards municipal government and the services provided by the City of Vineland. This 33 cents supports the people, equipment, facilities, and other resources, including the rising costs of employee health care and other operating expenses, necessary to provide those services. Include police and fire protection, road maintenance, public health services, and recreation programs. Municipal tax dollars also support important responsibilities such as planning and zoning, tax assessment and collection, engineering, code enforcement, animal control, elections, and debt-service obligations.
Approximately 67 cents of every property-tax dollar collected passes through to other governmental entities, primarily the County and the local school district, as well as the municipal library, county open-space and health services. For example, the County portion alone, which includes two separate taxes, accounts for 40 cents of every property tax dollar by itself.
While city officials may have differences of opinion regarding the priorities and budget decisions of the County Commissioners or the Vineland Board of Education, each governmental entity is responsible for developing its own budget and determining the amount of property tax revenue needed to fund its operations. The elected officials who make those decisions are ultimately accountable to you the taxpayer.
Your property tax bill is more than a single number, it reflects the combined cost of services provided by several levels of local government. Understanding how the property tax dollar is divided helps taxpayers better understand what they are paying for, where those dollars are going, and where you can most effectively express any concerns that you have.

lease be advised that the 2026 Tax Rate has been received, and the City is currently in the process of preparing the Third and Fourth Quarter Property Tax Bills.
The bills will be mailed on or about August 14, 2026. The grace period for the Third Quarter Property Tax payment has been extended through September 14, 2026. Payments must be received by the Tax Collector’s Office no later than September 14, 2026. Postmarks will not be accepted.
Any Third Quarter payment received after September 14, 2026, will be considered delinquent, and interest will be calculated from the original due date of August 1, 2026.

GET THE myVineland MOBILE APP
The City of Vineland has launched a new mobile app, myVineland, which is free and can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
The user-friendly tool features an easy-to-use interface where you can submit and track non-emergency service requests, and receive important news updates, and emergency alerts. It also provides quick links to frequently visited sections of the city’s website including contact information, online payments options, forms and other documents, the Municipal Calendar of Events, social media pages, and more.
AppleGooglePROJECT BEAUTIFY
The city has launched a new Exterior Improvement Program which is available to UEZ certified small businesses and small nonprofits with 10 employees or less located anywhere within the Vineland Urban Enterprise Zone. The Program will offer 5-year forgivable loans with a maximum amount of $50,000, and a 10% match by the property owner. It is designed to improve the appearance of Vineland’s commercial corridors which are the economic arteries of the city.

EMERGENCY RESCUE MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
New Jersey’s Emergency Rescue Mortgage Assistance (ERMA) program provides financial assistance for eligible homeowners who have experienced a significant decrease of income or increase of expenses due to COVID-19 and have been unable to remain current with their mortgage payments.
Applicants may receive up to $75,000 per household, in the form of a three-year forgivable loan, with no interest or payments due. Funds can be used for mortgage reinstatement assistance; escrow shortages; delinquent property taxes; municipal or tax liens; and up to four future mortgage payments, inclusive of principal, interest, taxes, and homeowner’s insurance. RENTING A CITY PARK
If you are interested in reserving a city park for an event, please call the Vineland Recreation Department at 856-794-4084, or visit their office at 1045 E. Butler Avenue between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Please remember, when visiting park facilities it is the user’s responsibility to maintain proper conduct and to keep the park and field areas free from trash and debris for the future enjoyment of others. The Recreation Division reserves the right to bar access for any neglect or abuse.
