What is SNAP/UCC?
SNAP is the Strategic Neighborhood Assistance Program. UCC is the Urban Coordinating Council initiative. Both are partnerships between the City of Vineland and the State of New Jersey. Both are intended to improve the quality of life in Center City Vineland, defined as the area bounded by East, West and Chestnut avenues and Oak Road.

Vineland is one of 16 UCC communities in the
state. All are directed by the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority. For more
information on UCC communities, go to http://www.state.nj.us/uccguide/
We work with local organizations, businesses,
other departments of city government, various offices of state government
and area residents on the following activities:
·
Home Ownership Assistance Program
(HOAP) provides interest-free loans of up to $2,500 for use toward the
purchase of a single-family or duplex residential property in the target
area that the buyer intends to live in. The program has helped approximately
50 residents become homeowners. Also works with area certified housing counseling
agencies, lenders and realtors to help prospective buyers through the home-buying
process. Please note funds are available at this time only for the
portion of the target area bounded by Park, West, East and Chestnut avenues.
·
Non-profit development provides information on funding
and training opportunities to non-profit organizations serving the Center
City Vineland area. To have your non-profit added to our mailing list, contact
the office at any of the numbers or addresses listed above or send an e-mail
to acurio@vinelandcity.org
·
Community building works with other organizations,
including Weed & Seed, Communities in Schools, Vineland Public Schools,
Cumberland County College, Cumberland Empowerment Zone and neighborhood
groups to plan and implement activities that inform and empower members
of the Center City community.
