VINELAND, NJ, November 14, 2000: Vineland Mayor Perry Barse has announced
the formation of the Committee to Light Gittone Stadium, a group of Vineland
residents and officials dedicated to fulfilling the long-standing promise
of a lighted stadium at Landis Junior High School.
Since no taxpayer dollars will be used for the lighting project, the Committee's " Team Effort" will focus on fund raising throughout all segments of the community, working to acquire all necessary hardware for the project.
"The Committee believes that the addition of lighting to the Gittone Stadium complex will be a source of great pride to all Vinelanders, and will also provide the Vineland School System additional flexibility for school activities", said Mayor Barse.
Committee Co-Chairmen are Mayor Perry D. Barse and Landis Junior High Principal Dr. Thomas McCann. Additional Committee members are Dr. Charles Valentine, Michael Testa, esq., Buster Garton, and James J. Gruccio, esq.
