Procedures for Requesting Banner Display
Banners must promote community events or messages for non-profit service groups. Banners shall not have political messages.
Contact the Mayor's Office at 856-794-4011. The secretary will check the calendar to see if the date is available for the month being requested.
" Banners will be delivered to and picked up from the receptionist
at the Electric Utility Service Building at 415 N. West Avenue for the West
Landis Avenue Banner Site (Junior High).
" Banners will be delivered to and picked up from the receptionist
at the Street and Roads Division of Public Works at 1086 East Walnut Road
for the East Landis Avenue Site (YMCA).
The maximum size of the banner will be twenty (20) feet long by four (4) feet high. The banner shall be made of vinyl-coated nylon (20 ounce) or equivalent material.
The banner shall be made so that there will be a three (3) inch hem around the full banner. This hem must be at least two (2) thick nesses of banner material. Each corner shall have two (22), six (6) inch triangular pieces of banner material sewn into each of the four (4) corners so that each corner will have four thickness' of banner material. A grommet with not less than a 5/8-inch inside diameter hole shall be inserted into each corner at two (2) foot intervals along the top and bottom of the banner. The grommets will be placed so as the grommet edge is to be 5/8 inch from the banner edge. Air vent holes shall be six (6) inch radius semicircles and placed so as there are at least fifteen (15) air vent holes over the area of the banner.
The Utility and Public Works reserves the right not to install any banner
not conforming to these standards.
If the banner becomes damaged for whatever reason, it will be removed in
the interest of safety. Banners may be removed due to extreme wind conditions.
The Utility and Public Works accepts no liability for torn, damaged, or lost banners.
