Insurance Services

The Insurance Services Division works to protect the city’s property, operations, and employees from a variety of potential loss exposures. The duties of the Division include:

  • Employee safety training and wellness
  • Workers’ compensation
  • Loss control and prevention programs
  • Review notice of tort claims
  • Employee PEOSHA guidelines compliance
  • Evaluate and administer insurance programs and claims
  • Safety inspections of city property
  • Recreation safety and guidelines
  • Oversee lawsuits filed against the City of Vineland

The City of Vineland is a member of the TRICO Joint Insurance Fund (JIF).  TRICO JIF is a public entity that is owned and controlled by its 36 member municipalities and is monitored by the New Jersey State Department of Banking and Insurance.  By pooling resources, members achieve premium savings for taxpayers by keeping overhead costs low and placing emphasis on loss control and claims management.  Dollars not spent on claims are returned to members as dividends.
