VINELAND: City homes lose power after early morning utility equipment failure

From staff reports

VINELAND - Roughly 2,500 homes lost power for a few hours early this morning after an equipment failure occurred at a North Vineland substation, Lisa Lucena, spokeswoman of the Vineland Municipal Electric Utility, said.

Electric utility workers restored power at 6:20 a.m. for the affected homes in the vicinity of Garden Road, Maurice River Parkway, and some spots on Main Road, Lucena said. Power went out around 3:30 a.m.

Electric utility officials are not sure at this point what caused the equipment failure.
