VINELAND: Council schedules public hearing for solar project
From staff reports
VINELAND A public hearing about the solar project electric utility officials announced last week is scheduled February 24.
City Council approved the project on first reading Tuesday night.
The public hearing will take place at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers, located on the second floor of the building at 640 E. Wood St.
Vineland Municipal Electric Utility Director Joseph Isabella said the utility will partner with Conectiv Energy and the Landis Sewerage Authority to design and construct a 4-megawatt solar project at the Authority facing Route 55.
The council members thanked Isabella, who was present Tuesday night, for his part in the effort.
A lot of hard work went in to this. This administration, this council pushed to have the VMEU branch out and be more innovative and Joe Isabella has flown with that, Councilman Doug Albrecht said.
Council President Pete Coccaro added, I think its going to be a wonderful combination of two energy companies.
